Die forgings are a common processing method for forming parts in forging processing production and are suitable for large batch types of processing. The process of die forging is the entire production process of making die forgings from billets through a series of processing procedures. Die forging process consists of the following processes.
Material preparation process: according to the size of the billet required by the forging, the material is placed.
Heating process: the billet is heated according to the heating temperature required by the deformation process.
Forging process: It can be divided into two processes (steps): billet making and die forging. There are more methods of billet making, and die forging steps are pre-forging and final forging. The deformation process is determined by the type of forging and the choice of die forging equipment.
Post-forging process: The role of this type of process is to make up for the shortcomings of the die-forging process and other preliminary processes, so that the forgings can fully meet the requirements of the forging diagram. The post-forging process includes edge cutting, punching, heat treatment, calibration, surface treatment, grinding residual burrs, and fine pressing.
Inspection process: including inter-process inspection and inspection. The inter-process inspection is usually random inspection. Inspection items include shape and size, surface quality, metallographic organization and mechanical properties, etc. The specific inspection items are determined according to the requirements of forgings.
Die forging process is usually composed of the following steps.
Material preparation, cutting off the billet, the said material heating, die forging, cutting off the burrs, etching, removing defects, heat treatment before inspection, quenching, correction, aging, etching cleaning surface, finished product quality inspection, packaging.
